- FMVSS 302 - Burning behavior of materials used in passenger compartments of motor vehicles

- CMVSS 302 - Burning behavior of materials used in the passenger compartments of motor vehicles

- DIN 5510-2 / DIN 54837 – Combustion / flame tests for railway components

- CEN TS 45545 - Combustion tests of materials and components used in trains

- UIC 564 - Regulations on fire protection and extinguishing measures in assimilated vehicles used in railway vehicles carrying passengers or in international services

Tests such as horizontal burning, vertical burning, dripping behavior, burning behavior of cables, motor room insulation tests, toxicity (smoke gas toxicity test) and smoke density are performed according to the classes of materials and components in the scope of the mentioned regulations.

These tests can give a test report according to the standard for the end product. However, as a result of tests under ECE R118, we are able to offer a type approval certificate to the manufacturers.

The situation of materials showing burning behavior after traffic accidents or mechanic / electrical failures experienced in vehicles in the recent years is gaining importance. Such incidents involving the direct safety of passengers must be tested in the laboratory environment in accordance with the regulations issued to prevent the use of the materials which exhibit behavior that could lead to the eventual spreading of this phenomenon or of the material which can cause this phenomenon to spread rapidly. These tests are applied to the materials or components used in the vehicle.
